Souvenirs for tourists visiting Singapore

I noticed that some tourists buy boxes of Merlion-shaped cookies and chocolate as souvenirs. However, these items are NOT made in Singapore! They are labelled “made in Malaysia” right on the boxes!

Visitors to Singapore, if you really want “made in Singapore” cookies, please buy Khong Guan 康元 biscuits instead. They are available in all major supermarkets. The company still has a factory in Singapore producing most of their biscuits. Check the labels before you buy: some flavours are now also made in Malaysia (sigh).
